Hours Worked: 6 ½
Objective of the Day: Demo Work
Thursday was our first day of actual work on the house, and we jumped right in, our objective being to remove the walls that made up the storage room to extend the living room. There always seems to be some type of demo work with renovations, no matter how small.
I was designated nail puller for that day, pulling out all the boards that were taken down from the wall. I also removed the baseboards from everywhere in the house so we could put up new ones later.
Here are some pictures from our work that day:
This is the storage room after most of it has been taken apart.
We found this silver stuff in the outside walls near the storage room. It seems the people who build the house thought it was insulation.

This is the pile of some of the boards I pulled nails out of.
The most important tool for renovations of all: The life sustaining radio.
I should mention that I am am home schooled, which is why I'd be out renovating a house on a Thursday. I count these projects as shop class.
